HI, my name is Ava.
Swimming used to be a huge part of my life growing up but I have since taken up rowing and now compete for Waikato Rowing Club.
However, my passion for swimming hasn’t faded—I’ve been a swim teacher for the past few years and love helping kids develop their confidence in the water.
I believe that swimming is an awesome skill to learn because it keeps us safe in our big blue ocean, and is also super fun! I grew up training in my local swimming club up in Pukekohe, where I developed a life-long love for the water that I'm excited to share with the next generation. Outside of swimming, I love playing football with my mates at UNICOL and some social volleyball for fun.
I have a strong passion for swimming, and it's been a big part of my life. I'm excited to work with the children to help grow their confidence in the water and improve their skills. I love working with kids to create a fun environment for them.

Teaching gives me the opportunity to share what I’ve learned through my own experiences, while also helping others grow and achieve their personal goals. I find a lot of joy and purpose in supporting others on their learning journey.

Hi, my name is Vanessa and I come from a background of nannying, preschool teacher and teacher aide. I love working with children and look forward to meeting you all.
With a background as a primary school teacher and a proud mum of two, I’ve always had a strong connection to children’s learning and development. My love for the ocean and passion for wellbeing, fitness, and health have led me to this role, where I can help little ones build confidence in the water and learn vital water safety skills. I believe every child deserves to feel safe, strong, and happy in the water — all while having fun! When I’m not in the pool, I enjoy the lake and beach, spending time with my incredible family and getting behind our family run businesses.
Hi, My name is Jakob
Swimming has always been a big part of my life, and St Peters was where I first found a love and confidence for being in the water. I used to be a competitive swimmer, but I have now moved on to rowing for St. Peter's. My passion for the water has not faded as I now am a lifeguard at Whiritoa Beach, when I also coached in the surf club program. I am passionate about seeing the progress that each child makes, and I look forward to helping them grow their confidence in the water.

I’m incredibly excited to be part of St Peter’s Swim School, as I’ve always had a deep passion for the water. Whether it’s the ocean, the lake, or the pool, being in or around water is something I’ve always felt closely connected to. This love began during my early years, when I first attended swimming lessons right here at St Peter’s.
